Becoming a Freemason
What is Freemasonry?
It’s the worlds largest and oldest fraternity. Our particular Lodge, Cincinnati-Lafayette No. 483, was founded in 1831 and is located in the Cincinnati Masonic Center, downtown at 317 E 5th Street, next to the Taft Theater.
We are an all-inclusive group of energetic, fun and true men who enjoy spending time together while bettering ourselves and the organizations with which we associate. We accept men of all backgrounds, races, creeds and philosophies, with only a few limitations:
- A candidate must believe in a Higher Power (It’s up to the individual to decide what that is).
- A candidate must be financially solvent (not dependent on others for support).
- A candidate cannot have a felony conviction on his record.
- A candidate must be 19 years of age or older.
If you would like to be a part of a group of men you can trust, with whom you can build life-long friendships, and know they will be there for you and your family, Freemasonry might be for you. If you look for opportunities to give-back to your community through charitable activities, Freemasonry might be right for you. If you simply have a true love of learning, Freemasonry might be right for you.
